Bloor Research Analysis of Tamr by Philip Howard, Research Director – Data Management

Taming the Data Preparation Beast

In his report on Tamr, Bloor’s Philip Howard raises the increasing challenge of data identification and preparation in a world of “big data in all its variety and volume.” Howard suggests that,

“the most interesting innovation in this area is coming from Tamr,”

pinning import to the credibility of company founders Mike Stronebraker and Andy Palmer in the space. Howard concludes by writing,

“what’s different about Tamr from other companies moving into this space are the triple store that underpins it and, even more importantly, the machine learning algorithms combined with expert sourcing that will help to automate the data curation process at scale.”
