Andy Palmer: Best Practices for Starting a Venture Mid-Career

GO ALL IN: HARD AND FAST.

So says — and so does — Tamr CEO and Co-Founder Andy Palmer when it comes to launching a startup.

In a best practices post for Dartmouth’s Tuck School of Business, Andy (a 1994 Tuck grad) outlines nine tips for any mid-career entrepreneur to consider before diving into a startup — and, importantly, its corresponding lifestyle.

It stands to reason that Tamr, as Andy’s professional focus these days, is a product of these tips … from the first (“Start by asking yourself the right questions”) to the last (“Never lose sight of the bigger picture”) and everything in between. As such, we’re glad to be the latest example of a venture philosophy that has proven itself out over time.
